NIDCR at a Glance

NIDCR at a Glance

Part of the National Institutes of Health, the NIDCR is the federal government's lead agency for scientific research on oral, dental and craniofacial diseases. Scientists supported by the NIDCR use modern biomedical research tools to conduct research on the full spectrum of topics related to diseases and conditions that fall within NIDCR's mission.

In efforts to improve the oral, dental and craniofacial health of the public, the NIDCR prioritizes scientific opportunities on the basis of their potential impact to improve health, the readiness of the scientific community to accomplish them, and their alignment with our mission. Our core values are driven by science and the need to uphold the public's trust.
