Color Coded Contours of Perfusion Flow

Color Coded Contours of Perfusion Flow

Title:
Color Coded Contours of Perfusion Flow

Description:
Human bone grafts were engineered in the exact anatomical shape of a human temporomandibular joint by using human mesenchymal stem cells, a specialized osteogenic scaffold and an "anatomical" bioreactor with medium perfusion. For the first time, anatomical pieces of fully viable bone tissue were formed in vitro. The velocity of perfusing culture medium within the engineered tissue construct is color coded, and the contours are used to indicate the regions of flow in the inner regions of the engineered construct.
