About the NIDCR Mentoring Network to Support a Diverse Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research Workforce: The goal of this cooperative agreement research education program (UE5) is to establish a mentoring network that will facilitate a diverse pool of early career investigators, including those from groups identified as underrepresented in U.S. biomedical, clinical, behavioral and social science research (see NOT-OD-18-210), to advance their research careers. This FOA invites applications from senior faculty, experienced mentors, and experienced researchers to develop and direct a mentoring network for eligible early career investigators (postdoctoral scientists and junior faculty) to foster their career trajectory towards independent dental, oral and craniofacial health research. The mentoring network is expected to be national in scope and may be designed to link or partner with one or more complementary institutions/organizations including national scientific professional organizations. Applicants may consider leveraging existing resources such as the NIH-funded National Research Mentoring Network or other similar resources to enhance the proposed mentoring network activities. The cooperative agreement will provide up to $250,000 direct costs per year for up to five years.
