Neural Crest Development & Disease Lab: Jobs

An image has a text that says, "Science with no border - we welcome you as you are."

Our motto is to take our science very seriously while working in a collegial, encouraging, and creative environment. To achieve our goals, we share ideas and technologies and discuss each other’s projects. We are very open to challenging projects and multidisciplinary collaborations. Sometimes we celebrate successes by having hot pot together! We also cherish diversity in all aspects including scientific, cultural, and personal. If this sounds appealing to you, please apply! We have fully funded positions at all levels.

Postdocs
We are looking for people that share our enthusiasm with neural crest stem cell regulation and neurocristopathies. Postdocs will be able to start their own research program or to lead ongoing projects. Ph.D.-level experience in at least one of the following fields is preferred: early vertebrate development, embryonic stem cell based in vitro techniques, advanced imaging, high throughput sequencing-based techniques or computational biology. Postdoctoral positions at NIH are fully funded.

Please write a two-paragraph cover letter explaining your scientific trajectory and why you would like to join us. Send it, together with your CV and contacts for three references, to laura.kerosuo@nih.gov.

Students
There are two ways for students to develop their thesis research at our lab:

  1. NIH-established partnerships with academic institutions.
  2. Individual partnerships established on a case-by-case basis.

If you like what we do and would like to do your Ph.D. research work with us, write to laura.kerosuo@nih.gov.

Postbacs
We welcome students that have been accepted or are interested in the NIH postbac program and want to learn about neural crest development, chick embryo work, imaging, embryonic stem cell cultures, and cutting-edge laboratory techniques.

Technicians
If you are interested in working as a research technician in our lab write to laura.kerosuo@nih.gov and tell us why you would like to join us. Describe your past experience and your goals for this position. All levels of experience will be considered.
