Biographical Sketch

Dr. Kim received her MD from the University of Pennsylvania, her MHS from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and completed her internship and clinical pathology/laboratory medicine residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Additionally, she completed a fellowship in transfusion medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. After training, Dr. Kim served as Associate Medical Director at Biogen, Inc., and was most recently a Medical Officer at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) and the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER). In CBER, Dr. Kim reviewed applications for cellular and gene therapies, plasma-derived products, and biologic/device combination products. In CDER, she lead cross-cutting medical policy programs and initiatives, including the IND Safety Work Group. As Deputy Clinical Director, Dr. Kim provides oversight of intramural clinical programs and will take an active role in shaping the Dental Clinical Research Fellowship Program to train the next generation of talented clinician-scientists in dental, oral, and craniofacial research.
