Program Description	Program Description Provides 3 to 5 years of support and 75% protected time to newly independent scientists who have a concurrent NIDCR R01 or equivalent.

Eligibility	Eligibility Eligible Individuals (Program Director/Principal Investigator) Candidates must have a doctoral degree, be newly independent, and have peer-reviewed, independent support at the time the award is made. Candidates must be citizens or non-citizen nationals of the United States or have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence (i.e., possess a currently valid Permanent Resident Card USCIS Form I-551, or other legal verification of such status). Award Benefits	Award Benefits Research support: $15,000 Salary and fringe benefits will be provided by participating NIH Institutes and Centers. The total NIH contribution to salary, however, may not exceed the legislatively mandated salary cap. View all award benefits.
