Event Description
The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research is in the process of developing its Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years 2027–2031 with input from the research community and other interested stakeholders to help inform the institute’s future strategic directions. NIDCR hosted two virtual community webinars to support engagement with its Request for Information (RFI), Inviting Comments and Suggestions on Topic Areas for the NIDCR Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years 2027–2031 (NOT-DE-26-015).
The mission of NIDCR is to advance fundamental knowledge about dental, oral, and craniofacial (DOC) health and disease and translate these findings into prevention, early detection, and treatment strategies that improve overall health for all individuals and communities across the lifespan. NIDCR’s new Strategic Plan will guide the institute’s work over the next five years to fulfill that mission.
During each webinar, NIDCR leadership:
- Introduced the process for developing the next NIDCR Strategic Plan
- Outlined the high-level topic areas
- Answered attendees’ questions
Participation in a webinar was not required to respond to the RFI. The formal comment period closed after 11:59:59 p.m. ET on September 14, 2026. Responses are voluntary and may be submitted anonymously. Attendees and responders were encouraged to review the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for this RFI.
