Biographical Sketch
Wendy Knosp is responsible for managing National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) activities related to strategic engagement, planning, and reporting. This includes implementing scientific coding for the institute’s intramural and extramural research portfolio; facilitating interactions with government agencies and other interested parties to enhance public transparency; reviewing and providing input on federal science planning; designing and conducting analyses to help inform decision-making; and reporting on programmatic and scientific activities and outcomes.
Dr. Knosp earned her Ph.D. in molecular and medical genetics from Oregon Health & Science University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco in the area of growth factor signaling and organogenesis. She first came to NIH as a senior postdoctoral fellow in the NIDCR intramural research program, and then served as a health science analyst and team lead in the NIDCR Office of the Director. Prior to her current role, Dr. Knosp led strategic planning and analysis activities for a suite of Common Fund Programs in the NIH Office of Strategic Coordination, including Stimulating Peripheral Activity to Relieve Conditions (SPARC), Bridge to Artificial Intelligence (Bridge2AI), and the Common Fund Data Ecosystem (CFDE).
