Clinical Technologies Research Program
The Clinical Technologies Research Program supports basic, translational, and clinical research that proposes the development of innovative technologies that could improve the health of people with oral and craniofacial diseases and disorders. Relevant research topics include, but are not limited to:
- Studies evaluating performance of new and current theranostic (diagnostic-therapeutic) devices for oral and craniofacial diseases and disorders
- Studies of noninvasive and minimally invasive technologies for diagnosis or treatment of oral and craniofacial diseases and disorders
- Studies assessing the clinical utility of diagnostic imaging devices for dental caries, periodontal disease, cracked teeth, and pulp vitality
- Studies developing oral devices and materials for monitoring local and systemic conditions
- Studies exploring the use of existing biological structures in the oral cavity as delivery systems for local and systemic treatment
