Behavioral and Biomedical Processes for DOC and Systemic Health Outcomes Program
Overview
This Behavioral and Biomedical Processes for Dental, Oral, Craniofacial (DOC) and Systemic Health Outcomes Program supports projects that utilize knowledge across disciplines including the behavioral, biomedical, social, and public health sciences to advance DOC, and systemic health for all. Projects should be designed to enhance our understanding of how and why humans initiate, adopt, maintain, and sustain behaviors that impede or promote optimal health and well-being within NIDCR’s research mission. Interests include causal factors of human behaviors, measurable impacts of behaviors on health outcomes, and consequential evidence that can inform the efficient diffusion of effective interventions. Projects may include new data collection or the analyses of existing datasets, combined datasets, and/or sophisticated data analytic approaches. Both animal model and human subject research projects are welcome. Applications proposing projects that meet the requirements of NIH’s Definition of a Clinical Trial may be more appropriate for the DOC Behavioral Interventions & Assessments Program.
