Health Information & Public Liaison Branch

The primary goal of the Health Information and Public Liaison Branch (HIPLB) is to ensure people have access to knowledge gained from NIDCR research, especially knowledge they can use to make wise decisions about health. To that end, the branch produces evidence-based health information in plain language on a wide variety of dental, oral, and craniofacial conditions, both common and rare. Much of the information is also available in Spanish. Branch staff use NIH and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) channels as well as social media to amplify the health messages.

HIPLB staff additionally serve as reviewers of oral health content created by partners (such as NIH News in Health, MedlinePlus, and HHS’s MyHealthfinder Tool), manage responses to public inquiries, produce materials for lectures and events, assist with logistical arrangements, and oversee the contract that supports communications functions.
