Dr. Jiwon Lim conducts research in the following areas: oral sequelae treatment for head and neck cancers, access to oral health services for patients with special healthcare needs, health disparities, TMJ disorders, rare mucosal lesions, and rural health.
After completing her undergraduate studies in biology and music at UNC Chapel Hill, Dr. Lim went on to dental school at East Carolina University (ECU) in Greenville, NC. Upon graduation in 2020, she completed a 1-year hospital-based general practice residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor, MI. She then completed a two-year oral medicine residency through Atrium Health’s Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, simultaneously completing her Master of Public Health degree through ECU. In her free time, she enjoys exploring local coffee shops, watching musicals, and playing piano.
