Las personas con el virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana (VIH), el virus que causa el síndrome de inmunodeficiencia adquirida (sida), tienen un riesgo particular de tener problemas de salud oral. Algunos de los problemas de la boca más frecuentes para las personas con el VIH/sida son sequedad crónica de la boca, gingivitis, pérdida de hueso alrededor de los dientes (periodontitis), aftas bucales, verrugas bucales, ampollas febriles, candidiasis de la boca (muguet), leucoplasia vellosa (que causa un parche blanco y áspero en la lengua) y caries dental.

Clinical Trial Definition

NIH defines a clinical trial as a research study in which one or more human subjects are prospectively assigned to one or more interventions (which may include placebo or other control) to evaluate the effects of those interventions on health-related biomedical or behavioral outcomes.
