Interested in proposing a study idea?
There are resources available through the National Administrative and Resources Center and National Coordinating Center for all potential applicants interested in proposing a study to be conducted within the National Dental PBRN. As a first and important step, potential applicants should prepare a Specific Aims page (1 page) and overview of the study design and procedures (1 page), including the number of practitioners and patients involved in the study. Potential applicants should review the following.
- Download and review the Menu of National Dental PBRN Resources [Excel 19KB], available to all potential applicants.
- Contact the NIDCR Program Director for Practice-Based Research, who will describe the process for access to resources.
- Submit the proposed Specific Aims page (1 page) and an overview of the study design and procedures (1 page), including the number of practitioners and patients involved in the study, to the NIDCR Program Director for Practice-Based Research and PBRN Resource Mailbox CHR-NationalDentalPBRN.Resources@kpchr.org.

Preparing a grant application for a proposed study idea
The NIDCR offers specific Notice of Funding Opportunity Announcements to propose studies that intend to utilize the National Dental PBRN infrastructure. They include:
- RFA-DE-27-003, Dental Primary Care Practice-Based Research Network: Administrative and Resource Center
- RFA-DE-27-004, Dental Primary Care Practice-Based Research Network: Coordinating Center
- PAR-26-052, Dental Primary Care Practice-Based Research Network: Clinical Trial or Observational Study Planning and Implementation Cooperative Agreement
